ahhaha. these we taken on the 29th of march. it was raining and everyone stayed back. some, like me, stayed back to wait the rain to stop. some waited for friend in other classes ending later and some stayed back fo class deco. our class's notice board is crap and we needed to make it presentable. i had to leave early, nid to catch some slp. when ming tjong said that we might be adopting guo xang's idea of putting up everyone's photo, i decided to take handsome photos of everyone ^^.

kenneth yee, ian, kenneth chew, weisheng, ziyan, mingtjong( sent to the slaughter), jiawei and johnathan and dennis 'fighting'. dennis was rubbing his nose and johnathan was turning around.

today was the first day of the four schools combined sports meet. our school is currently second with 6 golds. muahahaha. today was rather cloudy and it rained a little bit. i think this is the best weather to run. my event was the1500m B boys. it was rather a rush; possibly due to the weather. the events after the interval started quickly and the duration between each event was about 7 mins instead of the supposed 15mins. hence, i only reported after the C boys started, which was only abt 7 mins before my event. i had to ask coach for advice and also to get my spikes from dillian. after that, i saw my main opponent. luckily because of the rush i had no time to think of his pro-ness. after putting down my stuff, i went to the back to stretch. soon after, it was our turn. i used my strategy for the starting and i guess it worked. i had a great start. however, i almost lost due to complacency. i thought that i had a good lead and did not push to the finishing line. my main opponent charged passed me at the last forty metres. i quickly chiong and thankfully, won by a whisker. phew.

here are some pics taken by my coach haha. i look werid when i run lol.

first round.

second round. final round.

MELVIN!!! why you so demoralised.. you dun suck la. wasnt ur hip pain? surely when it recovers you will definitely do much better. dun think too much abt training so much and yet losing. you still got 800m and you mus redeem urself then! jiayou ok?

woah siao liao! too late! this post is supposed to be posted on the 27th but now its 12.14, i think -.-''.

today was a fun day. our supposed suisen outing became an outing of 6 lol. nevertheless, we had loads of fun. the day started off brightly, literally. the sun was up very early and the short walk from 4DL to parade square made me perspire until my shirt was almost completely drenched. after that, lessons resumed as any other day. i realised that lessons have became very slack. it doesnt matter if i listen or not and i still get what i plan to yield from it. take egeog today for example. i planned to nt learn anything and was prepared to slack. HOWEVER, my egeog teacher is mrs ho. i can neither sleep nor talk. wth, it's like being forced to listen. it was quite interesting tho, the pyramid of primary, secondary and tertiary developement. hmm, mayb that wasnt a good example. i'll use e maths then. i planned to just copy answers for emaths today and i did, paying little attention to ms sharmila's wise mathematical words lol. for chem, most of my tests failed and i could test for nothing. i added NaOH to a solution and nothing happened. sam did an experiment and there were 4 layers of different colours in the test tube. imba. it looked like those kind of rainbow or traffic light ice cream i used to eat.

after school ended at 1.15, some of us went to play basketball to relax before timed practice. luckily we were nt scolded when we went late; must be sam's aura. the timed practice was rather easy to me. i cant believe that ms kaur told us that the paper was a bit difficult. i think she is gonna mark very strictly and fail me after i suan her so many times haha. speaking of that, i think i should control myself. sometimes lessons are so boring or that i have nothing to do but to say stupid things that might attack the teacher or other ppl personally. i think it's selfish of me to do such a thing as i am just contributing noise to the class and it might also affect everyone else as it wastes time. mayb i shld try to be a gd boy now in class ^^( dun laugh).

anyway, after the timed practice, i had a bit of time and went to play basketball for a while. after abt 5 to 10 mins or so, zijian called me and asked me if i was going for the nike+ipod trials thingy. so we met up and went to the canteen. once there, we saw the sec2 boys and together, we tried the new technology out. the special feature that they are trying to promote is that the ipod is able to tell the runner the amt of calories burnt, time taken, pace, how much distance left etcetc. there is a receiver plugged into the usb port of the ipod and the reader or something like that is placed in a special compartment in the insole of the shoe. cool eh? after that, we went for a short run to test it. nt bad tho, burnt 23 calories. what's more, the programme can record all your previous runs and plot a graph. you can also set personal targets of wad distance in how long. one can even challenge another to see who clocks the best time or covers the most distance.

after lunch( at 4.15), i went back to class to check if i was missing anything because my bag was super light. i met jomel and marianne on the way there. after contacting everyone of where we are going for the suisen outing, we left school for tampines. oh yeah, it was jomel's birthday and she was walking around with a big balloon haha. on they way to the bus stop, we decided to go zion to find greg and vincent and let jomel go to a lan shop for the first time in her life i think. jomel kept emphasizing on the fact that she didnt want to get caught and came up with a few funny reasons if she and marianne were caught. we saw greg and vincent there and they said that they would take a cab there once they are done. we reached tampines at 6.30 and kanglong reached at 6.45. we could still catch the 6.40 movie BUT vincent and greg were late. so we decided to go and have dinner first and watch the 8.50 show. we were laughing like mad very often. then, when it was time, we went into the cinema and watched the show. lol. we watched mr bean, btw. although it was hilarious, the storyline was very boring. i guess it deserved its rating. after the movie, vincent lost his phone and we started looking high and low for it. we searched until the end of the credits but to no avail. luckily, kanglong said that it might be stuck between seats because it was a thin phone. true enough, it was found. somewhat like a mr bean kind of thing, with the exception of running around chasing a chicken just to get a bus ticket.

overall, its super fun today. i never stayed out so late on a day before a schoolday before. muhahahahahaha.

five things i am grateful for today:

1. i am grateful that i didnt get scolded for reaching home overtime.
2. i am grateful that timed practice was easy.
3. i am grateful that no one pang seh-ed today.
4. i am grateful that we didnt eat fast food for dinner.
5. i am grateful that there is no homework today!!!!

five things i am grateful for today:

1. i am grateful that sam did not sabo me
2. i am grateful that there is no homework today
3. i am grateful that the rain poured after i have reached school
4. i am grateful that every lesson was slack today
5. i am grateful that my dad allowed me to stay out tml

damn, it's getting more and more difficult to find things that i am grateful for. today was another day with 2hrs of assembly, split by a lunch break. the first hr was cheering practice for the sports meet. hardly anyone bothered to cheer and when asked to cheer class by class, madman wong yi put up his hand. omg, if this happens during the sports meet, it will really suck. why cant everyone just do their part in supporting the school?

i shall not say anymore negative stuff alr. negative things are so easy to remember as compared to good things.

3. i am grateful that i managed to do a bit of school homework
4. i am grateful that the tortuous weekend is over
5. i am grateful that i got enough sleep today

it was super hot today. the sky was clear and there were totally no clouds in the sky. even at 6, it was very hot. my sis complained that it was 'hot like hell' today when she walked home from the bus stop. at first i didnt believe that it could be hot to such an extent after it had rained in the previous few evenings and also last night. i realised that she was right when i stepped out of the house at around 4. the heat was equal to that of an afternoon sun. nevertheless tho, i managed to take a nap without the fan or aircon switched on.

its back to school tml and 5 more days to combine. jiayous in advance to all who are taking part.

today was the kayaking expedition. it was damn fun. ivan and i went around banging into other ppl's kayaks for fun. the trip was rather short tho. it was only a few kilometres from pasir ris beach and we took 50mins to reach there. as compared to the 17plus km and 7 hours of kayaking in obs, those few kilometres were no kick ^^. a few of us also tried kayaking with our hands and it was quite fast, except for turning.

anyway, here are the five things i am grateful for today.

1. i am grateful that it did not rain during kayaking today
2. i am grateful that i didnt capsize during kayaking today
3. i am grateful that i had a sumptous dinner at century square
4. i am grateful that it wasnt muddy at the beach
5. i am grateful that i didnt lose my specs in sea

yesterday during charisma, ms khairani told us to write 5 things we are grateful for. i think the result of this is quite positive if one does it everyday. anyway, i wanna try it. it'll be cool. i think its quite true that people tend to remember the bad things that happen to them instead of the good things that happen to them. things might be a blessing in disguise. even if it is not, one can twist it to make it a good thing. some people call that self-denial lol.

today is thurs and tml is the last day of the first week of school. it seemed as if yesterday was monday. i realised that monday and tuesday are very slow and after wednesday, everything seems to go very fast. i cant wait for pe, can finally run =). running is fun.

i've just gotten my progress report. how timely ^^. i think i have mastered the art of studying. now i just need mid yr to re-confirm my studying method. for my past 11 years of education, i have been studying the wrong way. reading the textbook and notes over and over again only works in primary becos there are ony 4 subjects to mug. now, i have an amazing 8. that is twice the number of subjects( 8/4=2). i think i did well this time =) ; with the exception of chinese and bio. ahh shit. i wont say that bio sucks; cos i dont think it sucks. in fact, it is quite interesting to think about all the facts in the book. however, once i open the book, these words come into my mind '' forget it, some other day, maybe tomorrow, perhaps next week, maybe i should do another subject etcetc. '' mid yr is in five weeks time and mr bean the hoilday opens tml.

Monday, March 19

the holidays have ended about twenty plus minutes ago. a rather memorable week for me. first was class outing then swift race and then yesterday's match.

class outing was great! i must say this class outing gave our class a whole new way of communicating with each other. it also made me realise that there is something wrong with me. my aiming sucks. no, it is not because i suck or the machine is spoilt. this is what i came to just recently after i ran tests on myself by going to the arcade more often: despite changing my aiming eye from left to right, my left eye is still my dorminant eye. this means that i got two choices. i either hold the gun with my left hand or shoot with my left eye closed. damnit, no more great ns days i am looking forward to. nevertheless, there is still time. my solution is that i should go to the arcade more often to practice ^^.

now about the swift race. it sucked. i started off brightly and was within the top 10. i thought i could finish within the top 15. i was terribly wrong. although there were around mayb a little over a hundred students my age running, i overestimated myself. i just cannot find a proper reason to why i didnt do a gd timing. was it wed's workout? the route at turf city?my lack of confidence?my overconfidence?my start?my warm up?or do i just purely suck? that race rly affected me. i could nt concentrate on my next training. but who cares? it has already passed and i've learnt from it. i think it's time to own again.

finally, our soccer match against kenneth's church friends. the pitch was awful; it was uneven and it has a small hill at one end. at least it was close to the size of a full length soccer field. i realised that one required a great deal of stamina and endurance just to sustain on the pitch for 90mins. the heat, the pressure and all the running will drain a player out easily. despite this, we won with the score of 6-0. this match was when i realised that it is nt easy to play any position on the field. as a left back, i was always out of position and i hesitate too often. it was quite fun tho, although my attemps to overlap ended up in failure, i managed to snuff out a few attacks. overall, everyone played well. great game guys!

school begins later today. back to the monotonous lessons where the teachers just blabber non-stop. however, there are still other things to look forward to. for example, street soccer, friends and of course, the eoy holidays.

12 march 2007. the first time DL went on a class outing. altough the whole class wasnt present, it was quite meaningful because we finially went out as a class. we went to watch a movie in the afternoon and then went to marina bay for bbq dinner. the movie didnt start till 4.30 and we were there at abt 3 plus. so, we, the guys, went to the arcade while the girls went somewhere else. the show we watched was supposed to be very nice and sad. in contrast, it was rather funny and boring.

i just realised that my daytona sucks. i cant drift for shit and i hit the wall every lap except for a few rounds where i either use bang other cars to turn or when luck is on my side. my shooting also sucks. my time crisis score is half of marcus' and i cant aim at all. i spent about maybe $10 plus on games but its worth it. long time no play.

after that was dinner. i kept in mind the condition of my stomach and decided to eat steamboat only. i poured sausages and crab meat into the steamboat and cooked it together with noodles. although it was little, i ate a few slices of bbq-ed meat which was already enough to make my stomach churn and feel uneasy. after that, i took some cooked food so that i can last the night and went off to practice my daytona skills at the arcade nearby. the place there sucks. i played to games. one machine did nt have gear 4. nvm. the other machine did nt have gear 3. du lan. damn waste of money.

overall, it was quite fun, being our first outing organized by ming tjong. pwnage. i also realised that i must go to the arcade more often to brush up my shooting.

Thursday, March 8

common test is finially over. only chinese was difficult; the rest was not too bad. i realised that there is only abt 2 weeks to combine. that's abt 6 training sessions. unbelieveable. i've nt trained for 3days and my confidence is slipping. but i dont care =) i'l take it as a well deserved rest after so much training. anyway, i think my form is still there after today. when i was walking out to take bus 12, i saw the bus moving towards the cross junction i was standing at. so i decided to make a dash to the other bus stop. when i reach the bus stop, a man standing on bus 196 told me to hop in. guess he thought i was rushing for that bus. to my horror, 12 stopped at the traffic light -.-''.

after school the class had to watch a movie about conflict at LT2 with bn, cr and ep. the others were at LT1 i think. the show was rather confusing, flashing back continously. the movie was about how high the tension was between the south and north koreans. neither of the two were allowed to step into each other's territories. two south korean border guards made friends with the other two north korean border guards. they hang out every night to play games, chat etc. then, on the 28 of october, one north korean fella came and saw the four men. he quickly drew his gun and pointed at the south koreans, wanting to capture them. then, there were lots of shooting and two north koreans were shot dead. after investigation after investigation, a swiss major, who intervened the case, solved it but decided to send a different report, letting the guilty north korean go scot-free. however, the guy was so full of guilt that he killed himself.

lesson learnt: koreans like to taste metal before they die. from the movie, one soldier attempted suicide by putting the gun into his mouth. the guilty guy also killed himself by putting the gun into his mouth. why must they put the gun into their mouth? why not at the temple?
